Smorse

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 8, 2026

Smorse is a Morse code learning app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Smorse does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. There is no account, login, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash reporting.

Information stored on your device

Your level progress, star ratings, and speed settings are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us or to any third party. If you use device backup services such as iCloud or Google backup, the operating system may include app data in your backup according to your device settings. We do not have access to those backups.

Permissions

Smorse does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, notifications, or advertising identifier. Audio is played through the device speaker or connected headphones.

Third-party services

Smorse is built with open-source software, including Expo, React Native, AsyncStorage, react-native-audio-api, and Ionicons. These libraries run the app and do not collect personal information in Smorse. The app opens this website in your browser when you choose Privacy Policy or Support. Firebase Hosting, which serves this website, may process standard technical request data such as your IP address and browser information to deliver and protect the site.

Children's privacy

Smorse does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app does not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to delete.

Data retention and deletion

Your progress and settings remain on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Uninstalling Smorse removes the app's local data. We do not hold a copy on a server, so there is no server-side account or data to delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
